College Courses Held Here At The
Oakland LGBTQ
Community Center.
The new Oakland LGBTQ Community Center has entered into an exciting new pilot project partnership with Merritt College to make science, technology, engineering and math, (S.T.E.M.) college courses more accessible to the community. ​These courses will also help individuals seeking a career pathway into the Bay Area's booming tech sector, learn the necessary vocational skills and/or to get the degree that they need.
The next course offering is CIS 005 - Introduction to Computer Science - Beginning SPRING 2019. Class size is limited.

Cost per unit is $46 (5 units per course). If you are unable to pay for courses, counselors are available to help you get grants to cover the entire cost!

Courses are FREE for High School Students. Students earn high school credit towards their high school diploma and college credit also! Adults may also qualify to get these courses for FREE as well!

Classes start SPRING 2019, and are conveniently located at the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center 3207 Lakeshore Ave. (Rand Ave. Entrance.) Please click here for parking and public transportation information.
